Apologies in advance if this is a well worn question, but there are over 500 topics in here and I haven't got time to go through all of them!

I'm looking at selling my 2Kxl soon but I have around 8 zip discs full of sounds that I want to backup to my pc. I use an Iomega 250meg drive if that helps?

Any advice on cables and maybe software that will convert the files to wavs would be magic! :D

I'd suggest getting a USB zip drive and using the Chicken Systems Translator program to first move all the files to your computer hard drive and then convert them to whatever format you need.

Or you could get a SCSI adapter card for your computer and do the same thing using your SCSI Zip 250 drive.

Thanks for the information. I've just been looking at usb zip drives and they are pretty cheap these days.

Is the Chicken Systems Translator program freely available?

Ahh, thanks for the info. It's really appreciated.

I was worried I would end up having to transfer my sounds file by file into soundforge which would be a bit tedious! I shall check out this software as soon as I get my hands on a usb zip drive.

Thanks again.
