Not enough memory??

I am trying to play a sample/song I transfered from my comp to my MPC 5000. It transferred fine and shows up on my MPC when I got to disk load, but when I go to load or play it it says "Not enough Memory". My Hard drive has 73GB free so I'm confused as to why it's saying this. Anyone know what's up?? Maybe I need to have/buy a memory card for the slot.

That probably means that your file is bigger than the 64MB internal memory....you should however be able to play it in HD mode though

hmm interesting.... The file was only 4MB btw. Gonna get a CF card tommorow.

As k1 already wrote, your MPC 5000 shipped with 64 MB of memory. You can order the memory expansion of you find 64 MB not enough for yout projects. Keep in mind that the hard drive is for saving samples and for hard disk recording. Also, the MPC 5000 by default has autoload turned on. It will load several demo programs and sequences. Simply delete some of the files to free up memory.

On the MPC 4000, in the "Global" mode, it tells you how much memory is currently being used.

You might want to check the 5000's equivalent of that. If you have 64M standard
and the sample is 4M , it should load up no problem. but if you already have 64M loaded,
then of course it will run into an issue.

speaking of memory.. I just recieved my EXM-E3 from vstservice.com.
Now I'm fully locked and loaded. Hopefully my basement will be finished
in 2 or 3 weeks so I can get busy. extended headphone use is giving me a headache.
