JJ OS ONE anyone'

am i the only person that still loves jj os 1 and hasn't bothered checking out 2 yet?

I am on JJ 1 for the moment, haven't bought the password yet - just checking it out.

I tried the 3.08 and coudn't cope with the bugs (or what I percieve as bugs, I'm still new to my 2500) but the specific ones I found seem to have been sorted in JJ OS 1.

It seems os1 is still supported, as I have seen some recent update posts on here. Also I like what I see. ;D

I'm not that interested in OS 2. If I want a fully blown sampler, I'll just buy one.

Although the 2500 with Akai os is pretty powerful in its own right.

yeah. the only reason i say that is because i see any workstation as integral to a setup as the mpc (ie both sequencer and onboard sampler) as something that SHOULD have all that stuff from the get go.

shoot, i'm on os2 and there are STILL several sampler related things that i would like to see--a couple functional and a couple workflow. you never really can have enough, i've come to realize.

i spend less time harping on that these days and more time recording midi back and forth between the MPC and Reaper to use midi VST and JS plugins to edit the midi data in ways that the MPC couldn't do alone (other than manually). so as long as i still have a fkin COMPETENT sampler and savage sequencer when i go mobile, i'm happy.

My main interest in JJ is features which make live performance more fun, and so far it seems to deliver.

I suspect that even the mighty JJ can't make the 1000/2500 into an Akai S6000 or E-mu E4, which is the most competent hardware samplers around IMO. But the winner in the 'portable hardware studio' cathegory goes to the Alesis Fusion range - well worth looking at if you want a cheap studio in a box without having a type writer included.

Having used an MPC 2000 for ten years, I am quite overwhelmed by my new toy though. Good times!

I have OS2 installed, but I don't use it. It's no secret that I don't like it so I won't repeat myself. I basically bought OS2 to help support JJ for all his hard work. He updated OS1 more than 30 times...that's at least worth $3 per update! haha I almost felt like he worked too hard fixing OS1!

imo os2 is F!@#$ING great! there are a few things which sh!t me but overall i'm loving it!
plus it is only early days!
Look how far JJ took os1 then think of what could happened with os2!

i didnt use os1 that much since i got the mpc 2500 i jump into os 2 and i luv it!!!

im still usin OS1 and im stickin with it. I used OS2 and didnt like it.

I can make great music with os1 theres no need for OS2

if it aint broke dont try to fix it, you kno?

buy it anyhow, give JJ your money
