Recording to computer from MPC with Audigy soundcard

I am trying to get my MPC to send music to my computer with a audigy platinum pro soundcard. I tried to use the cubase program that comes with the soundcard but it keeps crashing on me, so I was trying to use Cool EDit Pro instead but that does not work either. When using Cool Edit I'm trying to figure how to get the MPC to trigger. I've gone to the shift+9 screen and set the mtc to 25 on both the MPC and Cool Edit. If anything do I need a SMPTE connection also besides the MIDI cables that I have going from the MPC to the sound card. If anyone can help please let me know something.

try it wit midi clock

in cool edit hit F6 and F7, F6 turns on midi triggering in CEP and F7 sets CEP as smtpe slave even if you arent using it u have to turn it on. Next click the red R on whatever track you want to record to. Then hit play on the mp and you should be set.
