HELP ME OUT PLEASE! Just bought mpc 60

What up, help me please, I almost going insane with that shit. Recently I bought mpc 60, right now all I got are this mpc and monitors, so I can't sample lp's and only way to get a sounds into it is MPC editor, I installed it tried to make a disk it wasnt work, later I found out that I need to use 2dd floppys instead of 2hd floppys, but they are unreachable out there, I living in Moscow and that shit is impossible to find here, so my question is are 2dd disks only acceptable by the MPC60 or somehow I can use 2hd floppys too? Also could somebody give me step by step instructions on how to mak disk with mpc editor?

U can use HD floppy's..... put some tape over the hole in the top right..

It's cool but I'm still can't get any sound, how to make this disk? I just can't get how to use mpc editor, and I can say that three out of four computers where I tried first time to make this disk were crashed, because of use "XP disk formatter" function, so I dont wanna make experiments no more

Dude just play the .wav files or whatever they are and sample them in to the 60



just plug your headphone jack into the mpc et voila!! you have some samples.

Alternatively, sample off cds, tv, cassette, whatever... until you get set up with a turntable and a mixer

Thanx man, that's work, but I got another problem, I can hear sound while I'm sampling, but once sample have been sampled and I try to play it through stereo outs.........I have nothing, no sound, maybe it's really stupid question, but I'm not techical informed yet, so maybe any ideas what's that?

Also, I'm able to hear a metronom, but nothing else

Well... go to sounds menu.. and assign the sound you sampled to a pad !

yea u have to come out of the sample screen then hit the pad u sampled to try that

I just didn't describe my problem clearly, I know how to assign sounds, problem is that when I have a new sound sampled, and the next screen appears, and 3 soft keys are
<play\stop><keep & name><discard>
, I press play\stop and there is no sound, I can edit this sound, can assign it to a pad etc, but I can't get it to play, otherwise I can hear sound while I sample it, if the monitor field turned ON, I just wanna hear the sound that I paid for before starting to learn all that

i ahve goin to the main screen then try to hit the pad that the sound is assigned to an what os are u running

I'm running 3.10 OS, and strange thing is that screen which shown in the manual (manual for 3.10) is different a lil bit to the one that I got after sampling, maybe it doesn't matter, but I also have Peak Level line which doesnt indicated in manual, of course I think it aint the issue but anyway, maybe I need to change some general settings, I dont know, couldnt find in manual something like that

Sample a new sound:
Set your threshold, make sure you see the DB meter moving.
Set the time and hit record...
Play/stop keep/name discard.
Hit keep/name.. enter a name and press yo.. or ok.
Go to Pad assing screen.. hit pad 1.. scroll up to the sound.
Go to the main screen and hit pad 1. you should here a sound right now..
if not then your still doing something wrong or there is something wrong with you mp.

I did it this way many times and it dont work, maybe it's some kind of hardware problem, but I dont understand why I'm able to hear the sound while I sampling, but not after that, anyway, thanks everybody, will check what's that, hope it's going to work

Yea mayb its something with the samples routing to the outputs.. but im not sure..

So your saying u hear a sound in sample mode... and you see it to.. but when you record, name it
and assing it to a pad.. they sound aint there or you don't hear it.

Yeah I already wrote to him, I think it is problem with the internal sound generator and it doesnt send signal to outputs, cause as I said before I able to hear metronom and sound while I'm sampling, I already insane with that, I wanted to get mpc for a while and now I got it and it doesn't work, the life is unfair
