load sample

highlight section>convert to patch phrase

go to patch phrase and hit restore to original

then try to extract as patch phrase again

crazy numbers and stuff

restarted and is fine

just thought id throw this out there

those "crazy numbers" are what's known as a stack dump.
try the same thing again and write down the entire stack dump message to post here. then submit it to jj.
i'm a bit tied up right now to try and recreate this bug. so if you can come through with that info, it'll help out alot.

Possible Bug in OS 2 v1.10

Just noticed this while trying to record a banger!

I tried recording Kick and a Snare in Grid Edit (Drum). What happened was:

1. Some of the entered Events didn't get played while hitting the pads during recording - annoying (it's no Polyphony issue!)
2. Even stranger, all samples - in this case drums - sounded different while hitting the pads than playing them back... They sounded more filtered when hitting the pad, but sounded cleaner after recording, as if the EQ would be applied during playback... what the eff?

Never noticed anything like this before! Anybody else?

PEACE

Stan, I noticed the first bug in previous versions. But it seemed random.
I havent had much time to beta test the last few versions. But when I have more time, I'll test and confirm both bugs you posted.

autonomous wrote:I just loaded in the free version of JJ0S.

I then load in something I've written previously.

When I try to play back tracks, nothing plays at all. I check my programs, and no samples are loaded (when previously they are all there).

I then reloaded the orginal akai OS, and everything is fine.

Will this same problem occur if I pay for the full version?

I know I'm a newbie here, but this problem is really quite a big one for me! Has anyone else had anything similar happen, or know what could be causing it?

^^^ It's been a long time since i used the Akai OS. But if I remember correctly, anything made with the Akai OS won't load correctly in the JJ OS.

If I'm wrong here, somebody correct me please.

If thats the case, if i re program everything in the free version on JJOS, will it be recognised in the paid version of JJOS? I'd happily just go straight to the paid version, but I'm doing the pad upgrade (as son as my pads arrive) and I read somewhere that this could cause the OS to be reloaded. Not sure if this is true either... Anyone?

Are you talking about OS1? Thats completely compatible with the akai os. Maybe not completely in the backwards direction because ... akai os sucks.

Installing the pad upgrade has nothing to do with the OS, except for the sensitivity adjustment.

Nym wrote:here's an os2 bug.
i've created a comparison: an os1 project and an os2 project.
the issue is a filtersweep.
os2's filter sweep is audibly "chirrupy" on every sample, compared to os1 being "smooth."

damn. i gotta say i really like the chirrupy effect, even if it is a bug! i never noticed this behavior, tho.

i also like it - when intended!
this effect should be achievable via ADSR, but should not occur with default adsr settings.

Peace.

I don't know if anyone reported this and if someone did I must have missed it.

When I record my tracks from the MPC to Cubase I get cracks at occasion throughout the track. The kind of crack that's used as a metronome on the MPC1000.
This is with the JJOS 3.08.

What's the deal with that?

that's probably to do with the buffer settings of your audio interface rather than the mpc or the jjos.
