Using compact flash cards with older mpc 2000xl

I am using a mpc with an internal scsi drive. Now it looks like my scsi drive is going out. I think I want to upgrade to a compact flash drive. Does anyone know what options do I have? Do I have to get a drive installed, or do I have to get an external? If someone can tell me what I should do, that would be great. Thanks.
