MPC2000XL and Motif ES6 marriage???

First, forgive me if this topic has been discussed already and direct me to the post. Otherwise, can someone explain how to "sync" the MPC2000Xl with a Motif ES6. I'm still very new to the whole thing. I recently purchased a Motif ES6 and I would like to use my MPC2000XL as the master. I'm not exactly sure how to accomplish this. Do I need to adjust the settings on either internally? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

MPC mid out to Mo midi in> Mo midi out to MPC midi in> Turn off local control on the Mo and go to song or pattern mode. I'm gonna assume you know how to sequence midi tracks in the MPC.

CoooCooo1, you seem to be answering all of posts here lately, thanks. I had connected everything this way before but was having some problems. I'm not sure If I had local off. I'll try it again witht the local off for sure this time.

Well I have no life so...... .............................well that and I damn near broke my back the other day so I'm immobile for the time being.

It should still work even if local control is on, you'd just get doubled notes.
I left out a lot of details for how to sequence in the MPC so let me know if you get stuck and I'll go more in depth with how to get it all workin'.

This goes out to the Motif es owners. What do you think of it? IMO The motifes has got to be the must confusing piece of machinary ever built when It come to workstations. Sometimes I get so frustrated that I find myself pacing the room trying to figure shit out. And that user manual doesn't help.The supreme runaround. One minute you on page 240 and than the next thing you know, the text refers you to page 50, then on page the text refer you to page 189. WTF? And, all I wanted to due was load/samples.

Hey yo, im just about to order an ES6.... in favour of a NordLead3...
I originally paid for the NL3 on ebay about 6 months ago and the guy isnt sending it.. anyway got my money back and realised Im not doing as much electro stuff anymore and need a big general soundset, good piano, upright bass, wurli, rhodes etc....
I have a Triton Le 88 at my studio and like the sounds but cant gig with it cos it wont fit in my fkn car!!!!!!!!
I want something w a broad soundset, portable and all in one that will go nice with my bedroom setup of mpc 4k + E-mu XL-7 w/ mo'phatt & decks.
Any OTHER suggestions?!?!?!?!?!?!

The sounds on the es are tight as hell but be prepared to do some trial n' error/ studying to understand whats going on. The es should be a winner for you. Have you looked at any other boards? I see you have the mpc 4000 and triton so you should be be straight. With the es in your arsenal, you'll have the acoustic department worked out and you allready have the synthy board sounds so... do the damn thing. One

Yeah I loved the nord lead 2, and wish I had enuff $$ for both the NL2 AND the motif es... but I cant afford it...

The triton isnt mine but I have access to it... only prob is its the 88 piece of sht so I cant gig it...
For synthy sounds I've got a Juno106 and the first home synth yamaha made, the SY2.
But yeah I dunno, I guess the motif's competition is the triton studio or the fantom. I hate roland and I think its stupid to buy another triton.

So yeah, If I could find more *cough* "cheap" s3000 multisamples I probably wouldnt need to get a workstation, but I cant.....
+ I got no controller since that sorry day I parted with my nord lead.

Im rocking the motif es and mpc 2kxl. I have also got the an plg board for the motif es. Its not really that bad or atlease i like it and works good for me. My next buy will be a nord lead or virus but fro now this lil plg board fits my needs very well.

All I use is a motif sound moudle and a 2000xk. I must say if you a composer like I am, a motif and MPC is and ill combination. One you get a hang of the midi channels etc. YOu will be good to go. check out my music almost all my sounds come from my motif
