I have a cd-r drive and i cant figure out how to record a beat straight to a cd.. can this be done? Or is it only used to read information?

you gotta resample sequenced tracks into single wave file and then burn it on to cd

I had the same problem, the thing is that it is not explained in the manual so you need to download the following :
