hey guys. i got my new mpc 3000 fpr 3 days now. i'm really happy with it. after some kind of learning curce (i'm pretty familiar with the 2000xl) i'm getting faster.
one thing i like very much about the 3000 is the ability to save things like names of midi devices, default sequences etc.
but i got one problem (after searching this forum and reading the manual):
when i sample a sound and want to name it the screen says "sound032". that name is too long. i want to name my samples like 01..02...03... on each new song.
i wonder where to change the default setting for this. i searched every menu but didn't find anything. the fact that my mpc says "sound032" means that this setting CAN be adjusted. the question is only where & how.

btw: check my myspace if you wonder what kind of music i make. http://www.myspace.com/hovaone

This naming "counter" is reset if you "clear all parameters". Then you can set the parameters you like again, and save the PARAMETERS file. If you load this each time you make a new beat the "counter" will be blacked out again, starting at sound01.

However, this may become problematic when you want to load other samples from other beats, as every beat will contain a sample named "sound01". So you should just rename each file to like "kick" "snare" and such, and it should be no problems.
