I got one but the floppy drive is fcked up... i went thru a couple of replacements.... and they all failed. does anyone here know of any alternatives for storage...

Can't you use the ones from like a 2000XL or MPC2000?

Wow ... I was looking for some S950 knowledge and I stumbled upon this thread. Yo! I got the S950 MIDI to the 60ii and it is sounding great. Also the one I bought from Fobes was completely upgraded. Both memory expansion cards in it - It had this after market control knob, I replaced it and bringing the unit back up. Next I'm gonna put a backlight in it. Oh ... and the 60 I sent to Forat for complete overhaul. Motherboard crashed on me - He upgraded it with a new motherboard and backlight. Running 3.1 OS. Which is what it had to begin with. But none the less ... for all you Mpc/ S950 users, the combination of these two machines emulate perfectly together. I will drop you all something soon.

Also I have them going through this Soundcraft Ghost. So rich in sound however I have a chance to get this Akai MG1216 and a MG614. Thinking about that now ...

I've had both MG1214 and MG614.
Grab the MG614 and call it a day.
Some many reasons why, I cant be bothered to type them all out. There is a thread dedicated to those boards which may provide some useful info.

Yeah Fobes is good peoples fam. He even told me that the unit was maxed out. I had no idea until I started messing with it. The Mpc 60 and The S950 have become my favorite combination. I was lucky to get a hold of a S1000 as well. So this weekend I am going to check out those Akai MG units. That's going to be interesting.
