1000 and 2500 LCD compatible?

Anybody have both the 1000 and 2500 that could verify they use the same LCD screen hardware?

yes, things are on the way. i just need to know if the screens are interchangeable. i don't own the 2500... if some one wants to donate one though...

Im pretty sure the actual lcd is the same, it's just the 2500 casing part that flips that might be a bit harder to get, i haven't seen that part on mpcstuff or anywhere else yet, unless you have some other source for that sort of thing(if so, yes, please spill the beans...).
Be sure to keep us updated on this, i'd love to see the result of a modified 1k with a REAL flip screen.

Your MPC 1k is absolutely gorgeous!

i stand corrected on the lcd casing, just checked mpcstuff and they gottem, they $15 USD. Not 100% sure they come with the back part of the casing, but i would assume they would. If the purpose of what your trying to do is solely to make the screen a tilt screen, i would(and probably will now, as this has got me interested) investigate whether or not the 1k lcd fits into the 2500 lcd casing.
But seeings that both the 1k and the 2500 screens display exactly the same thing pretty much(depending on your os of course), i would very much doubt they would differ at all except for maybe the 2500 lcd board beeing slightly different in shape maybe to fit into the tilt screen casing. I would probably put money on it that the connections are exactly the same.

hold on everybody. a tilt screen would be nice, but i'm not quite ready to go down that road. i should get my hands on a functioning (or not) 2500 before any progress is made. i have other things in the works before a tilt screen is even on my radar. believe me, the seed has been planted and i do have a few scribbled on bar napkins floating around my office. UNTIL THEN, if anybody is willing to crack the case on their 2500 and send me pictures, please PM me before doing so. I will try to make it worth your effort.

come on man, what is it you plan to do with the 2500 screen if it isn't the tilt screen? or are you just doin the research to keep it in mind for the future? Man you killin me with suspense, what else could you get from a 2500 lcd that you don't from a 1000 lcd?

if the screens were the same on the 1000 and 2500 then he could sell the same blue screen for both models
