Building a melody with the pads..

I find that very akward so I'm planning to use my Ozone for making melodies. My question is, how does it work?. Do I sample C note from the piano and use the ozone to make the melody? Or is there a special program I can use for the MPC for example.. In Reason there are patches.

and can Reason rewire with the MPC?

is there anywhere that you can buy packs of different notes of an isntrument? i have the oxygen 8 and i take one sound and assign it to diff keys and change the tone by one for each key. it works a little bit but it kind of sucks and it takes like 20 minutes

- http://www.hollowsun.com/ - samples of vintage keyboards and drum boxes. These guys do the Akai "Kits Of The Week" using their drum samples, and their other keyboard samples are just as nice.
- on my MPC1000 page, I've tried laying out Hollow Sun samples on the MPC1000 - so you get the samples from them (links), add in my PGM, and go.

Laying out the samples over the MPC1000 is laborious, but it gets easier with practice. If you do your own sampling, you can organize it better e,g, I sample "F" if possible, and I have "Blank F" PGMs saved, where all I have to do is drop in the samples. I've also added background to how this works in my FAQ-in-progress...
