Now what i absolutely want to see in the next os is a CUT function,,, i still cant believe that with that big high res graphical display, i cant cut midinotes graphicaly. Its slowing down my work way to much.

What would be a great idea is when you got to some point from where you want the midinote to be cutted,, just pressing delete would cut the note,,, how hard can that be to implement??

Maybe you can go and talk to Sean on DPS forums. The update is not finished yet, if you re not too late, he may could implement it in the (final) update.[/quote]

I'd think it would be better to leave it the way it is, if they change delete so its cuts single a note every time you push it ,it would earase the clip libary every time you want to delete a single note....bah ......ive never found this a issue ,if u want to cut a single note use copy ,then delete...............eh?

dunno whether this has been mentioned already but movin midinotes for drumtracks up/downwards the grid such as for instrumenttracks would be great and shouldn't be a problem!

also drag and drop of folders/fils on the hd via aksys!

... complete 2-3 page parameter list attached to the next abbendum with meaningful hz, time related and %age values to the filter, amp, lfo, zone page and pgm modulation block values!

yeah that would be nice,

I also would like to see a next sequence funcion wich doesnt have to whait till the last bar before changing to another sequence.

This would be so funky,,,, especialy for short drum rolls and stuff

2nd that......

also wouldnt it be cool if you could use the right upfader (Q6 )as a means of changing the value of the cursor selection when the shift key is held down instead of just having to use the jog dial.

E.g use it for setting up trim points,
ADSR envs
etc......
etc..etc ...etc .... i think this would be dope if implemented well

Ive discussed this on a dutch forum,,, it would be great to realtime edit sample trim and loop points,, realtime reversing samples and stuff, but it seems very hard to implement this kind of functions.

That idea about the meaningful values is nice, but when the midifunctions are more efficient and intelligently implemented, we wouldnt need such info.

you can do realtime edits of sample trim functions such as looppoints sample start ect (not revers sample though)... usefull and a brilliant creatif aid!!

All I want for OS1.6 would be AUDITION FROM HD!!!

Damn, I've been waiting for years for this function. Up to now, my MPC2000XL's been doing that for me while that big old fat 4K sits on its ass and just does the 'regular shit' like drumset templates.

Well there is a sh1tload of other stuff that should be improved besides audtion.

I also found out that my hd wont load lots of samples because of other carracters (very common in dutch and french) and to long samplenames.
This is so stupid, that realy shouldnt happen

fix that sample start range in zone edit, u just have to, if ur even bodering reading this (ppl at akai).
at least let it cover 10seconds, its embarassing, really.
a sampler this huge and expensive only covering nano-seconds of sample start.
peace

maybe we should try to get this stickied, atleast until the update

Do you mean the attack?

ikke=^i think hes talking about the zone start in the zone page,

ice=yeah i think we need a sticky thread

hes a couple things that peeps have been talking about on here which i would like , a pad mute page
regions to threshold in Db(like in the trim page)

Also i think it would be cool if u could copy trim/region start and end points to a clipboard like the phaselibary to be recalled at any time so ya dont have to write em down or extract/trim(create a new sample) ,every time ya want to try something new with a sample?

also when i talked to akai tech on the phone i asked about the prog modulation window, and what relation depth has to the source ,and they said a peeps has been requesting for it to be changed to show the parameter of the destination

i.e
destination= lfo depth

depth measuerd in hertz ,not -100 to +100
Etc...

He said its been past onto R+D to look at,
i also asked if he could email me some kind of chart or the like to show what relation depth has to the various destinations and he said no chart is available as yet':shock:' ....

hy all

imo this thread should be kept rollin and get a sticky aswell! who knows, maybe sometime an akai developer passes by and picks up some ideas for features to implement in a future 4k oss :lol: and whilst already looking forward to os 1.60 i got some ideas which i think would make the great part/pad mixer in 1.51 still better! i think they would be not to difficult to implement and great for life performances and i think somethin similar should be implemented sometime in os 1.70, 1.80, ... any critics/discussion/feedback is welcome ... but listen wouldn't it be great to have some freakin part/pad mixer features ...

1. 1st misc feature for part/pad mixer: as ravael already said once on the previous pages of this thread it should be allowed to have a setting in misc mode which allows one to set the knob/slider functionality in a way that the currently controlled slider only affects a part/pad only if it crosses its already set value! ie: if i wanna fade in a beat and my drumbeat is assigned to part 1 which amplitude is currently 0 and controlled from the slider and the slider is currently on the upposition it should only affet the part/sampler when the slider reaches/crosses the downposition.
misc feature: knob/slider function in part/pad mixer can be set to somethin like offset/replace or whateva

2. 2nd misc feature: pad function in pafr/pad mixer! it should be possible to set the pads either to change parts/pads or to play the sampler! this way when selecting which part q1, q3, q5 should control one just has to hit the pad and doesn't have to scroll over with the cursor (and once in the part/pad mixer in a lifesituation one maybe doesn't want to play the sampler but just fade in, fade out beaz, ad fxs, pan! it would all be much quicker this way!)

3. there are 6 qlinks! why not allow to control all 6 knobs/sliders in pad/part mixer? imo there could be two channel strips from the mixer! could be somethin like when once in part/pad mixer mode the allways nice to switch orange window button should get a functionality to allow switching between the part/pad controlled by q1,q3,q5 or the part controlled by q2,q4,q6!

4. there are 8 knobs! 2 could be used for mute (imo the top one), 2 (those undernieth) for solo and the other 4 get another freakin feature!

5. the active knobs over and unther the sliders (q5,56) could be used for assgning/muting parts in a way that 4 parts can be controlled at the same time! similar as a dj crossfade slider! this way one could control 4 beaz at the same time flyin one into eachother! when active is on a part/pad is selected switching it off it gets muted and since it is the selected one by pressing another pad its part/pad can be activated! when the slider is on the up position it plays part 1/part2 or pad x/pad y 100/0, when in the downposition part 0/100!

6. another great one (that,s maybe for os 2.00): 2 more pages in mixer mode with a decent part (presing f 3) and pad (pressing f 4) equilizer! ther is one in the fxs section, why not give the 4k s mixers one?
pressing f3 one gets the eq for the selected part with
q1 = hi freq
q2 = hi gain
q3 = mid freq
q4 = mid gain
q5 = low freq
q6 = low gain

pressing f4 one gets the equilizer for the selected pad!

... just another long post for some small 4k dreams :lol:
