Issues of a Strugglin Beginner:

If i record a sample and i want to chop it up and i know in advance that i'm not gonna use the last 1 or 2 seconds do i have to make the sample a perfect loop before i go chopping it up?
Why i'm asking....
I chopped the sample but didnt make it loop perfectly before i chopped it up
Then i played the unchopped sample in Recycle to see the BPM.
The BPM was 17,173 or something like that so I made a sequence running at 85 BPM (multiplied the original with 5) but the chopped samples dont perfectly fit...

is this a good way to work?
just time stretch the sample till it fits or is my approach completely wrong?

you thinking in the right direction...looping the sample right before chopping it up will make your life a lot easier

you can only timestretch to certain point before it starts sounding unnatural. it varies and has to do with sample used... time stretch by lesser amount and add little reverb if running short on the last chop
