I'm asking this, because this site of JJ's is really a mess and needs a makeover. Once for that bad layout and design and most of all because of the really bad english. I guess somebody could provide a proper translation and a fresh, nice-looking layout. I could provide a german translation for all my Krauts reppin' it in here... but his site really sucks the way it is. We could bless him with a nice design for what he has done for us!

What you think?

i'm decent at web stuff, but think of it this way:

there is frequent content being added to the manual/directions/instructions from jj, murai, etc. as such, murai would have to have constant access to whatever we could put together. it would take a great deal of interpersonal work to maintain stability and to actually have this thing come together and remain up to date and user friendly.

you're right though, the website thing does scare people whose eyes seek glitter
people judge the professionalism of a product off the dumbest things - including whether or not the website of a product looks like it was made in 1998.

what about an "Editor" to help with particularly baffling english translations? example: you copy/paste the text/hyperlink to text, and then your own english "translation."

jjos page wrote:Unless it puts in a password, the save of JJ OS1 Version 4.xx is impossible.
Even if a function except a save does not put in a password, it can be used altogether.
The screen of SAVE will be displayed if a password is put in.
The price of a password is US$ 30.00.
Payment is PayPal only.

my EDIT:

jjos1 costs USD 30.00: paypal only. You can install the demo of jjos1, but unless you purchase a password, you cannot save your work -- otherwise, jjos1 is fully functional. Give it a try! All the functions and features are there for you to examine.

After purchasing a password, enter it into the SAVE screen of the jjos1 demo mode. Once the password has been entered, you can save your projects and samples
.

that's an idea. this way, the text gets a massive "coherency" overhaul. murai would maintain control of the website (very, very important IMO - murai has been instrumental in the organization/communication of this whole project). we could even submit cool images. it'd also be great if they would embed youtube vids in the manual, etc.

very interesting post, stan. i'll keep thinking about this
beware allowing someone to bite off more than they can chew though!!!

Okay, I will ask murai on the weekend if he is interested in a) getting better translations and b) a new layout/ design of their site and the domain and then let you know what's going on. I don't think that they will take the mpc1000info.com domain, but it's a nice offer.

Later guys!

I meant for if we set up a wiki page -- it makes sense as a domain for that

I didn't mean for a replacement for the JJ site
