4k OS update

couldnt agree more with that statement...numark is all about $$$ rahter than customer satisfaction. I hope they stop producing that junk they been putting out lately...

Why not just purchase a used akai Z8 or Z4 and conjuction with the MPC5000k, and have the best of both worlds? that would be like having a Bionic MPC4000

Guys, I've done my best, but I also said right from the beginning that the chances would be small!
I also have a very hard time here to stay focused on my initial goal: answering questions and digging up good ideas for future 5k OS. Some people here make that really hard.

There is a another thread going on in the 500 forum, since someone from Akai told a customer in a privat email something about JJ which was posted here (of course).
There was a reply out of Japan and immediatelly the whole sphere in that thread turned around.
There is some evil hate-Akai-spirit around these forums which makes me wanna run.
No one is attacking me directly (which makes sense, I have about nothing to do with the problems from the past with Akai) but people use my posts too, to attack Akai. Which makes NO sense, since the people working there have NOTHING to do with those problems from the past either. It's just the name Akai that seems to trigger all the negativity, which I find *S T U P I D*. Again: *S T U P I D*.

If you really have a problem with Akai, write the owner. He's the only one you could hold responsible in some degree, but not todays Akai employees. They try to do their very best to deliver good products. And sure, those folks are not perfect either, but are you? Am I?

I agree with you completely. I wrote before that you have to have pretty thick skin to hang around these forums.

Fortunately for me, I didn't have the same experiences many have had with their Akai products. I love the MPC 2500 and still would be using one today if it wasn't for the release of the MPC 5000.

Ok..so more real talk. I can understand some of the complaints from MPC 4000 users. But as a user of the newer products, I would hope Akai puts their energy into improving the latest products before re-addressing the older products. So keep up the good work so I can get an update for my MPC 5000

SCD I feel where you are coming from but I know that Numark had to know what they were getting into before they purchased Akai. I know myself and others have emailed Akai in the past and since the takeover and have either been ignored and or lied to. You can't blame the customers for being upset. It's cool that Akai I'm sure is lining your pockets, so of course you got to stand up for your bread and butter. Old customers being upset and voicing their concerns and opinions is about as *S T U P I D* as new employees acting like folks shouldn't be upset about being pimped. No disrespect and I hope you don't run off you actually come off as decent as opposed to the rest of those cock pullers..

Whether you like it or not you are pretty much like a Criminal Lawyer defending an accused Child Molester.
It not your actions or intent you are catching the sins of the fathers.
Akai JP laid some pretty ugly ground work it's associates and customers and unfortunately Akai US now owns that.

My suggestion to help you it to keep your direction clear and as Jahrome said look forward.
Focus more on what Akai is doing and will be doing not what they have done or should have done.
Let the 4k die, Akai did so it's not a good place to stick your neck out.
It's nothing personal to 4k users since 4k users have already come to terms with this years ago.
Help users to see that Akai US is trying to stand behind it's current products the 500/1k/5k better than Akai JP did and give people time to heal.

Akai JP earned it's bad rep and we all know that when you look at the association (Akai/Alesis/Numark) all those companies have been suspect at one time or another.
Don't get caught up in that show people the improved methods and better cust support.
Your frustrations won't help Akai, yourself or users.
Stay positive and focus on the real agenda.

Fvck that. I hope the 5000 flops HARD and is buggy as hell and the VIRTUAL analoge synth suck ass. I hope numark goes under and take alesis with them.

I do have those feelings but I was also annoyed at something else when posting this hehe... But yes, akai screwed me over but I have yet to find a better replacement machine sequencerwise. I am looking tho and if I find it I'm selling the 4000.

Its easy to say what you did but I bought the 4000 in 2002 and we're are still stuck with an unfinished product. They had 6 years. Sadly the MVXXX doesnt seem to be what I need either, and I'm dead certain theres a market for a new akai mpc for highend/power users, but numark is sadly moving more and more away from the original mpc concept. The 5000 isnt a step forward, its actually a step backwards.

To add fuel to the fire Akai simply refuses the 4k owners to take matters in their own hands and letting us hiring the coders they previously used, which would mean that their source code still would be offlimits to us and everyone besides the coders and akai. Can you feel my reasons now?

Adrian - Atleast he is trying to do something for us 4000 owners. He could of just done nothing and sit back and complain. I am not trying to single you out but I think we need more action and less complaining. There are many things we could do to get Akai to notice us more and make this subject one that they would like to put the proper closure too. .02
