Ok so i have the 8 outputs on my mpc 2000 , now i have a track with 8 different sounds like hi hats kicks snares etc... these are all drum i got on a cd that are in stereo , but it seems i can only use 4 if i have to use a right and left for each sound, so what is the point of 8 tracks if i can only use 4 ? anyone know how i can get all 8 at the same time ok thanks..

Assigning the Sounds to Individual Outputs, 2kxl manual, pg 131

Select the output with the DATA wheel. The numbers one through eight correspond to each
individual out jack on the rear panel. When the sound is in stereo, it is possible to select two digit
numbers such as 12 or 34. In this case, the odd number is the left channel and the even number
is the right channel (Output 1 = left / Output 2 = right).

Assigning Para Out, 2k manual, pg 110

Select the output with the DATA wheel. The numbers one through
eight correspond to each para out number. When the sound is in stereo,
it is possible to select two digit numbers such as 12 or 34. The
left sound will be output from one and three, and the right sound from
two and four respectively. E will send effects.
CAUTION:If 8 Para Out Board (IB-M208P) or effect board
(EB16) is not installed, nothing will change with
the settings here.

ok thanks i see that how to use the outputs but 1 drum takes up 1&2 so that means i just used 2 outputs for 1 drum and that means i will only use 4 total, so i guess i need to convert the sounds to mono to get all 8 right? how can make a stereo kick to mono kick? will it make it sound weaker? thanks

Assuming you leave the sounds as stereo sounds, all it means is that you can only track out 4 sounds in one pass. Track out the remaining 4 stereo sounds in another pass.
