Exactly Which 2000XL Program Parameters Won't Load

Hey everyone,

So I was checking out the 2500 yesterday at Sam Ash and I loaded up one of my XL programs just to demo the machine. I noticed that my mute settings did not transfer. So I checked out Akai's website and it says "most all .PGM files will transfer". I just assumed that all my programs would transfer seamlessly. I'm actually a little bummed. Does anyone know exactly which XL parameters don't transfer? Thanks

I guess those parameters that are on the XL and not on the 2500, or are different on both. "simult" for example doesn't exist on the 2500 anymore, so that will definitely not transfer. I don't think anyone has made a comprehensive list of what transfers and what not...

I've come from the 2k classic, and the most annoying transfer problems are connected to sample naming/pad assignment - and program assignment in sequence tracks. Basically I have to get in there and manually change a lot of assignments on busy sequences. It takes a little time and it is boring, but it is well worth it.

Hey, thanks for the responses. I noticed that to taht I had to manually change program assignments for each sequence. The mute groups not transfering is definately an issue for me. Without having a 2000XL in front of me I would be hard pressed to remember some of those settings. Also, I was under the impression that you could edit a sample with the Q Link slider without having to hold down another button like on the XL. It did'nt seem to work unless I held down the AFTER button.
