its just at the end of the statement where hayashi says that he will have nothing more to do with the mpc series, that had got me and a few other folk worried.
but i suppose all we can do now is wait and see what happens, if there is any developments regarding this or not. i don't think it would make a difference anyway.
stan steez, i'ma just say on behalf of myself and all other jj os users on this forum, i think its dope as fuk that you actually chased this matter up and got some answers, props dude, your work on the whole jj movement has surpassed most peoples on here. truly - thanks.
peace bruh.

While checking out the site, I noticed a lot of people were having problems with their machines. So I wrote a little letter to Akai, to see if I could get some answers. Below is my letter and the response. The reason I say I think this is good news is because this could be a canned answer that they tell everyone. I don't know. Let me know if any of you have been given the same answer. The guy in tech support did fill me on a few things, which I didn't know. Mainly the creator of the JJOS. I guess I should have done some research, but I was to pissed for that. I'm going to need everyones help. If you can recreate any of the bugs, I'm going to need a step by step breakdown. So they can recreate it and fix it. I will be posting an email address so that everyone can email me & I will forward it to tech support. I've established communication, now let's see if we can get this thing working properly. Sorry for the long post, but I'm trying to keep everyone informed & hopefully get everyone involved. Letters are below.
To whom it may concern:
I'm writing you to let you know that I, along with several others
(http://mpc-forums.com/viewforum.php?f=26&sid=
58d88d418a53ea34364f6e021102c49f) are VERY unhappy with the BROKEN product that you have put on the market. I'm referring to the MPC 500.
The machine is very unstable. The problems all seem to be caused by the OS. Which means it was shipped broken or you downloaded the update from the Akai site and it became broken. Either way it's grounds for legal action. According to several MPC 1000 users this was also the case until the JJOS was created. Now my question to you is, how can someone who doesn't even work for your company, create a better OS than the company it self? Is this how you guys do business? What do you do, put the product out, get as much money as you can and then move on to the next product? What you don't do updates on products after a certain time frame? Please explain this to me. This is not how you get repeat business! Do you guys check the internet forums (see link above) to see what people are saying about your product? Do you not realize that these a potential customers and repeat customers? Some people come to this forum before they buy your product. You really should check it out. These are your customers and the only thing they want is for THE PRODUCT WHICH THEY HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED TO WORK PROPERLY. THAT'S IT! I can't believe how you guys are dropping the ball on this. You can have the most powerful portable sampler ever created, with a few OS updates. Hell, if you can't do it, hire the guy that created the JJOS. He's already proven he can do it. He fixed your MPC 1000 didn't he? Are your potential customers & repeat customers not worth it? Do you want to see your customers happy, saying nothing but good things about your product? It sure doesn't seem like that now. In closing I'd like to say I know I will not get a response back, but if someone does, can you a least answer my questions?
Hello Darrel,
Regarding the MPC500 OS… We are in process of doing an update to fix all known bugs. When we get finished with beta testing this OS, we will release it. There is no release date set because we want to get all the bugs fixed. If you have some bugs that you can repeat, please give us a step by step procedure that causes it to occur and we will fix it.
JJ - JJ (Hayashi) did work for us. He was the software engineer on the MPC1000 and MPC2500. He was the one that introduced all the bugs that those machines originally shipped with. He even broke the MTC on the MPC2500 before he left us so that he could then fix it and then charge customers himself. He stole our code, and charged customers for OS fixes that we would have had him do and released for free. We chose not to take legal action even though we had every right to because it would hurt the customers. He will not be working for us again. We are in process of fixing the existing bugs as well as adding the Chopshop 2.0 feature from the MPC5000.
Thank you

Good luck.
There is no JJ O.S. for the MPC500, so I don't think betting on JJ would get me an updated O.S. sooner!
