MPC Tutorial FeedBack

I just copped it today been reading it, it seems very easy and quick to pick up on , I was wondering how many ppl bought it and did it help you construt your first beat with ease.

I had my MP bout for 4 months now and still didn't make a complete beat yet.

what to you constitutes a 'complete beat'?

I had it b4 I got my MPC 7 months ago and I have not completed a song yet... It is def helpful in the beginning, very helpful.... But being totally new to the lingo and technical stuff I haven't really tried a full song yet... I focus on Tracks.......


I def think it is worth it for someone who was starting like I was (From scratch). Don't get me wrong, that 7 months has been really only 2 months of constant use..... So someone who can really focus on it will prob benefit from it more than I did.....

I think I've had mine for close to a year now. It didn't help me make full songs but it did help me to understand my MPC a whole lot better. I haven't made full songs on my MPC1000 because of me. In my opinion it's not lacking anything and definately worth buying.

We should have a review of 'Beat Making on the MPC1000' in next month's MusicTech Magazine (out in a couple of weeks).

i would buy it......if it was hardback and came with a dvd! £26 wtf!

i bought the 2k xl one for my machine then gave it to my mate who is at uni.
He printed it off for freemans (double sided)

I then put it in plastic wallets within a folder and i was good to go

Just to clarify, it's not £26, its £24, and we are not charging for a PDF as such, we are charging for the valuable information inside; that's tutorials, hundreds of sounds, tips, tricks, and knowledge.

Would you pay ~£600 for a box of plastic and metal? Probably not, yet that is all an MPC is if you choose to look at it from such a sterile perspective

But each to their own - some people prefer to learn things the hard way, some prefer to speed things up and get a helping hand from someone more experienced; it's up to the individual and you've got to respect that. Thousands of fellow MPC users who have bought our MPC tutorial books seemed to have gained from their investment, so hopefully we can continue to help this way.

BTW if anyone is interested, we're currently writing a JJ OS 3.08 version of the ebook...

Plus we are looking at offering an option of buying the book with embedded video and audio within the ebook itself, which we hope will improve the overall experience (this isn't definite yet, we're testing to see how viable this will be)
