Beatmaking Tutorial for the MPC 5000

Beatmaking Tutorial for the MPC 5000

Hi Guys,

tomorrow i will receive my first MPC - the 5000. So i am new into hardware based producing.

Now i am thinking over to buy the "Beat Making on the MPC2500" Ebook to get a little bit help with my first steps.
Does it make sense to buy it, or should i wait for a special ebook thats for the 5k?

but i like to know what kind of sequencing technics are usefull and how to arrange them. is this ebook then right 4 me?

Not sure the 2500 version of the book will be suitable that much for a 5000 owner. We're getting hold of a 5000 very soon and will be setting to work on the 5000 book asap, top priority.

Hey! After reading Tutors sticky on restraining ourselves from sarcastic comments, it makes it hard for us regulars to not partake in the joy of internet brow beating when the mods don't abide.

Yeah, my fault, I wasn't trying to downplay you at all. I just thought it was funny, wait for the 5k book though. If you want something specific just wait for it.

Reading too many tutorials makes you restricted in the way you interact with your gear! That's my opinion! :mrgreen:


i 2nd that. learn to use the machine your own way, then once you have a system/technique, read/watch a tutorial to teach you new functions.

i would say that a tutorial should be used to show you what a piece of gear/software can do, not how you should use it.

thx for your opinions. i think i will try my first steps on the 5k alone, but hope that a tutorial will come up soon to give me some tricks and hints for using my new mpc.
