IM EITHER GOING TO BUY AN MPC 500 OR 2500 OFF OF CRAIGS LIST. I WAS WONDERING CAN I USE THE MPC AS A STAND ALONE PIECE OF EQUIPMENT.

RIGHT NOW I CAN ONLY AFFORD AN MPC

AND IM A COMPLETE NOOB

IM SUPPOSED TO GET HOOKED UP WITH A MENTOR FROM A FRIEND.

you don't need a turntable.

we already see that you have internet access, just download sounds from the internet if you want. depending on where you download you'll get good/decent/poor quality samples. samples need to be/converted 44khz/16bit.

lemme add that with a turntable line into the mpc like jacpot said, you won't have the possible "file error" "wrong file type" from incompatible downloaded audio formats.

Cause, you'll be right back here looking for an answer for that too.
