how to assign midi tracks to the individual 8 outputs???

I already know how to assign samples to the individual 8 outputs but not midi how do u do this???

There are only 4 midi outputs.

They are selected in the main window, bottom right.

1A = channel 1, output port A

Midi is not audio!!!!! Why would you assign it to an audio output?

the reason why i ask this cause iam trying to track out my tracks 4 at a time into protools instead of one. i see videos where they tracks their beats out 4 at a time instead of one

You could track 16 midi tracks into protools at a time, or multiples of 16 (upto 4x) depending on how many midi inputs your pc has.

All they are doing is sending each track to transmit on a different channel, i.e track01 to 1A, track02 to 2A, track03 to 3A (bottom right of main screen on mpc).

The data from each track will all be sent to the same output midi port on the rear of the MPC, but each transmitting on its own channel. If you have say 2 midi inputs on your pc, you could then also send to the MPC output port as in track17 to 1B, track18 to 2B and so on.

In protools they just have each midi track set to receive on the above channels.

ok i understand now,can you explain to me how i set it up in protools i see where you assian channels at and i had set each track to match the mpc miditrack. do i use a midi track for this or instrument or audio???so when i have it all setup do i just push play and record and it will start recording what i did in mpc to protools??? if i can do it like that it would be way easy for me?
