Here's Chromatic Assigning Tip

"How to play/map out a sound from your mpc2000xl to you keyboard controllers keys to play ay multi pitches on the keys".


Go to your program/params page select your sound,and go to"auto chromatic assign".This will put the sounds across your keyboard controllers key pads.

When this is done it will create a new program,and you wll also have to go to drum one and reassign the program you were using.



Then to excess the mapped out sound,go to drum 2 in your params and assign the new program you made and make it drum 2 on your main screen.Refer to loading multiple programs in your manual if you still need help with this.

its best to make any envelope, poly and level adjustments before you auto chrom the sound, so then these settings will be used for every key.

Yes Sir you are correct

u can't make an envelope or make the pads poly in a pre adjustment. It will assign the key you want in a totally different program.... are you saying that for that specific sample you assign. it will copy the parameters of how you have it on that specific key when it makes a new program? i never even noticed that it did that.. imma go do it now and see if it copies the parameters..

Yeah thats exactly what he's saying. For instance when I make a bass program I loop the bass note first then I change it to note off. Then I adjust the decay on the note to give it a lil release when you let go of the pad. Then I make the program autochromatic
and everything is applied correctly for each note

SWEETNESS!!.. (in my doctor frankenstein voice) IT'S ALIVE!!! lmaooo.. no doubt.. i gotcha..of course you preset the params for whichever sample you're gonna chromatically assign (haha.. sounds like a bunch of big words). I just didn't pay it any attention to how the new program is created and it takes the same params and assigns them to each new key of the new program of the chromakeys... it just seemed to work out perfectly...lmaooo.. took it for granted.. gotcha!
