Are any of these jazz artists worth diggin' for?

I'm relatively new to sampling jazz, so I've begun compiling a list of jazz artists that are dig-worthy (no homo).

Are any of the following jazz artists worth diggin' for, and, if so, which?

Lee Morgan
Dizzy Gillespie
Oscar Peterson
Chet Baker
Dexter Gordon
Eric Dolphy
Gerry Mulligan
John Fahey
Bill Evans
Art Blakey
Bob James
John Coltrane
Miles Davis

I know some of these jazz artists are very famous, but are they worth diggin' for??

Imho everyone and their cousin digged on these artists.... try to find some more rare artists when sampling from Jazz i say.... It will save you the disapointment of hearing ur sample in 10 other songs

64khz: Thanx for your reply, but IMHO it's not the sample - it's what you do with it. Take Premo. Many of the samples he uses aren't really that rare, it's the way he flips 'em that's special.

But I guess, if you say that these have been sampled a lot, they are worth sampling to me... Just gotta come up with new ways to flip 'em

WHO CARES IF SOMEONE SAMPLED A RECORD BEFORE,, THEY DIDNT SAMPLE THE WHOLE RECORD, OR THE WHOLE SONG.. Every Jazz artist is good, is about being creative, and being patient with it. Heck try spinning a record backwards. Its all about having fun, and learning new things everyday. The hell what every1 else does, innovation over quality any day...

What do people mean by worth diggin?

who cares about digging for samples! If you want to chill to some good jazz and educate yourself then yes they definetly worth digging for! Don't dig for any genre if you don't like it or just want samples.

anyone who says the likes of Art Blakey, Miles, and Dizzy aren't worth checking out are nobs.
