Wow, looks great! Where did you get the wooden panels?

Nym,

In the video you've definitely got a custom data wheel. Did you do anything to beef this up, or is it just a machined metal part or something else entirely?

regarding the wheel:

this is a working prototype of something i'd like to improve on in the future. unfortunately unless i can source a perfect "wheel" like the one i'm working with, it'll never be commercially available.

it's a radio tuner fitted to accept the rotary encoder, which i actually had to SAND in order to make fit. NOT recommended, though i've had no problem so far i really wondered how i was taking away from the life of the encoder as i sanded.

the main innovation here is that pressure applied to the data wheel (when the sampler is say in my backpack) isn't transfered to the rotary encoder but instead to a rubber buffer i put in behind it. the wheel spins on a smooth surface i laid over the rubber. it took some getting used to and i don't know if i totally prefer it over the original, but it's certainly more durable.

Just ordered mine!

Can't wait for this beast to come through. Took all night trying, at first I thought they were out, but the server was really bad. Good luck to others that might get this.

man and the led's. you'll have pretty good business dude. those wood panels are so fresh. the 1k looks like a future retro product (not the company, but simply a future retro lookin product). it would prolly look silly on a 2500 tho. wish i had a 1k right about now

I'm so glad I bought my 1k. The options to customize keep getting better. JJ, of course, is the icing on the cake.

I hear the wood enhances the sound of the mpc 1000... something to do with the direction of the grain, those wood ends look hot.

I'm pimpin' my 1k all the way. Yesterday I ordered the rest of the grey cosmetic parts from VST, since i only bought the black housing last year. So by the end of the week, there will be no trace of the old Optimus Prime colors, plus my new LCD.

I gotta have those blue LEDs. But I thought I saw them cheaper locally. If not, I'll order 10 when the wood and aluminum side panels become available. The wood looks sweet. But i'm dying to see what the aluminum sides will look like before i decide what I want.

that's what i saw originally on the site. i hope he comes through with that, and i'm curious if it'll look just like the original with the mpc1000 logo molded in it. that would look dope.
better yet, it would look even sweeter if it was anodized black aluminum.

After 562 "looks" at this post, I'm surprised that no-one has really said they were getting this screen. I ordered one and can't wait to see it.

It's cheaper than a green replacement screen on MPCstuff.com.....

Anyone else??

i've read that quite a few people have purchased blue screens, either by message or youtube comment. i've been so busy in the last week that i've barely had much time to do any real work...

Hey NYM,

I see that some are asking if this screen will work on the latest OS.... this won't cause any future issues like OS2 v1.13blue will it. Its just a screen, right??????

no, replacing the mpc screen would be kind of like switching your computer screen. but as an mp obviously it only has 1 to choose from.

and i'm willing to bet other 2500 users like me are stalking this page waiting to hear if it's safe for a 2500 to get this. which i'm almost positive it would be... but still waiting.
