data wheel

was pondering getting a black data wheel. Then i thought while looking at bits and pieces on the mpcstuff site whether the 2500 data wheel would fit the 1000. Maybe it's a bit larger in diameter and won't fit through the hole in the faceplate or something, i dunno, but i'd guess that it would go easily onto the encoder stick or whatever you call it just like the 1000 one. If someone could clear this up before i order one that would be sick. Not a necessity, but thought i'd try it out for something different.

hmmmm. they're different products so i would think it wouldn't work. plus people complain a lot about the 2500 data wheel. just paint yours black. i have a black datawheel on my 2500 and can tell you it wouldn't make a spit of difference to me if i painted it myself and did a fine job. and when i had a 1k i loved the data wheel compared to the 2500

No, unfortunately the 1000 is much smaller. Buttons and the jog wheels are not interchangable... I wanted to get one of the large grey ones from the 2500.

cheers fellas. Now that you mention it i do recall the 2500 data wheel being a little clicky if you know what i mean. Nyms got the dope ish crankin with his data wheel, might do some junk shopping and look for some old amp or tuner or something i can rack one off of and modify. I'm havin a lot of fun at the moment with this 1k modification stuff.
