i've done a search and haven't found answers to my questions, so if there is an earlier thread which answers any of my questions please direct me to it.

i just purchased an akai mpc 2000 classic and i have two questions how do i get the beats from the mpc to my computer so that i can listen to them and add stuff to them? i know there is a way to "dump" tracks into pro tools but i haven't been able to find any information on this. can anyone help me out? also, how do i go about using a midi controller to add basslines and melodies? do i just hook the midi out of the keyboard into the midi in of the mpc 2000 and then i can play sounds from the mpc? or is there any way to hook the mpc up to reason with my midi keyboard so i can play sounds from reason? thanks.

You can record the audio output(s) of your mpc into protools via the audio input of your soundcard.
There is no easy way to play melodies via a midi controller hooked up to the 2K classic; make a program with tuned copies of the same bass note sample and assign them to a set of note numbers in the program which you then can trigger from the midi controller.

This question is asked at least 3 times a week. Please do a search, find the multi-quadruple threads on it.
