I've read on the forum about non-destructive sampling as well as the track mixer feature of the jjos.
would someone please give me an overview in simple terms of these two features and how they are used?

I have a question too.

1. is it possible to switch track mixer outputs on the fly so that if I have the mpcs outputs connected to my footpedals i can switch around wich samples are going to what pedals quickly?

I believe you can switch the outbound sample's port. it's about 3 buttons worth to get to the mixer menu, select the pad issuing the sample and changing the outbound port.

Of course, this was the original OS way I modified the mixer, if there is better way to do that with JJOS someone should state that here...

gracias dosle, so are you describing akais os, or jjs os version 1?, if i buy the 1000 i'm definitely
intrested in the jjos version two, I believe most of the folks on this forum use os 2 right, so would
some of you please break down these two feature sets for me, I really need to understand this before i make my purchase and i'm very grateful for any of your help.

The way I'm describing works in both OS's (I'm running JJ 4.99 os1).

now that I'm in front of my box, it's
Mode > Mixer > F2 > there you can select pad (example A01-A16)

You can change the output channels whilst the sequencer runs, but i imagine it'd be quite fiddly to keep entering the correct screen if its part of a live performance.

what you could do is get three copies of the same program, each with different output settings and switch between the program with the data wheel.
either that or use a mixer with sub outs that you can route to your loop pedal, hit the sub buttons on the channel to route to your pedal, the main button to route elsewhere.

non destructive chopping does what it says on the tin. one sample file can be triggered from different start points. e.g if you have just one sample that says "1,2,3,4" for instance. You could have different pads set to play chops to make it sound like "1" "2" "3" "4," individually, and other pads set to play larger chops like "1,2,3,4" or "1,2" : you wouldnt have to create six samples to do it, it'd be one sample but with pads refernced to different parts of the sample. Its for saving memory. Certain features wont work with NDC though (loop points are per file not per chop, any time stretching etc is destructive etc.)

make up my mind, it looking like the 1000/os2 is going to be for me, but what about the ndc chopping restrictions, does this mean that if you use the ndc that tuning will effect all of the chops and what about muting will that effect all of the chops as well?

mikolo just dropped some gems right there.

NDC chops can be tuned independently of one another, and mutings are pad-specific, not sample specific.

remember that NDC is just 1 way of doing things
in 90% of cases i use regular old destructive chopping because i need to use loop points, it's faster, etc etc etc
but for those once in a whiles, NDC is truly ideal.
