To Get or Not to Get

im considering getting the JJ OS.

1) do u think this is a wise idea?
2) which should i get?--i dont mind spending the 30$ if its even slightly better.

Get JJ OS 1 and 2
There is a slight learning curve but it only took me a few days to get around each on the basic level. The ASDR and Filter Options on OS2 make everything sound way better to me. I love the high pass sound on break pieces and it really seems to separate the sounds more than on OS1. The workflow is way faster on OS 2 once you learn it. For me, it seemed I could make things sound more put together and complete faster on OS 2. The tweaking is a lot more streamlined if that makes any sence.

truthfully i just upgraded to the OS and i've owned one for about 4yrs man THIS IS SO WORTH IT i was very suprised on how good this is i'm going to buy the 80 dollar version ASAP.


AND LIKE STATED ABOVE THERE IS A SLIGHT CURVE BUT NOTHING YOU COULDNT FIGURE OUT IF YOU KNOW MPC1000 BASICS.

The price of JJ OS1 will increase to $39 as of June 15th. So if you want to save a few dollars, buy it before then.

been using OS1 for awhile... didnt like OS2 at first but i got the most recent update and gave it a try, and i must say i will def drop the paypal loot down on it once i got it... i FLY thru the beat making process on OS2, love it. dont sleep on JJ period! fxck akais slow ass programmers! they lost the best when they lost JJ lol

I got jj os1. Did not buy it, if i get 2 do i need to buy both? It says on the manual if i wanna save work but what if i just wanna go to number 2? I love the jj os1, but i really wanna see if i like 2 even more

i bought 1 awhile ago - i know you need it to update to os 2, but not sure if you need it registered to check out OS2 as well as OS1 for demo purposes.

OS2 is fast tho! love the workflow once i got used to it... i didnt like it at first after being with OS1 for awhile, but once you get your head around it and learn the new shortcuts, its smooth sailing

you need to have bought os1 to have the luxury of buying os2.

os2 is similar to os1 but has way more shortcuts, workflow adjustments, and of course a number of fantastic features. it also has a (very) few number of downsides, including being able to assign 3 sounds to a pad (doesn't even matter due to the simult pad fcn), a couple velocitative functions were removed in favor of AFTERTOUCH and ADSR, etc.

i would recommend launching straight into os2 from a fresh perspective
because the learning curve of os1 and os2 would be virtually identical from square zero.

you have 3 reasons to get os 2

1) workflow

2) asdr

3) because you love yourself

haha, so it osunds like all il really need is OS 2, and i'll be set. I'm somewhat familiar with Akai's OS...actually not at all really. I only know how to do the basics. So as far as learning OS 2, it sounds like it shouldn't be a problem, seeing that I still havent really gotten used to Akai's.
