I ordered the sensor pads for the 2000 classic i need to know if anyone can tell me how to change them i need to know does the clip that hold the ribbon together pull out or is it a matter of opening the sides and pulling or do you pinch the sides together then pull like the screen does .

the only video i have seen describing it, is the pad upgrade for the 1000 he unclips the black plastic holder for the ribbon cable, im not sure how, but a closer inspection should make it apparent.

this is the xl but it should be similar for the clasic

yes it looks exalctly like the classic but i still don't know if you squeeze the clip or push down or even pull apart the ends i tried pulling apart the ends a lite sqeeze but it feels like the whole component is about to pull apart from the circuit board.

You need to push the black clip backwards and then the ribbon slides out. Also be
careful when placing the new sensor pads in place as the adheasive is very
sticky and it is easy to mis-align it (once it sticks on the metal plate it's stuck for good).

Good luck with it ;)

chris, one of my pad is out too. Please keep me updated with how things goes with you changing your sensor. I might order some new sensor myself. Thanks.

lek beat this is how i did it first the component in which the ribbon is attached in take a flat screwdriver pry it a little and it comes apart from the back meaning the piece slide off toward you then you peel the old sensor pad off remove as much sticky residue as you can then take light soapy water rub it on the metal late that the sensor came off of be careful not to get it on anything else then remove the paper of the sensor you just bought and line it up the soapy water is for helping you move it around to line it up if you don't have the light soapy water it will stick then it's a done deal but once you don that smooth it out so it sticks let it dry after it dries and it's on goodthen you want to stick the sensor end back in the clip component but it may be to long so you aregoing to have to cut it do this with scissors and as straight as possible be sure you cut little by little so you won't cut to much then be screwed cut i even once you get that you just slide it in there and attach the clip and create again . anymore question just hit me up.
