forthcoming os 1.13

first it seems that the JJ os1 price will increase according to its website.

According to a murai post, 1.13 will be available the 8th.

some new features are scheduled :

in GPE he says you can press a pad and move up/down arrow, you can press undo + a pad

sample list : names will always be in alphabetical order

are those the only 2 additions coming? or that have been released? is there any talk of a track mixer for os 1? os 2 is to much for me. i dont really want to learn a new os for a few things that i dont need. but i would love to have a track mixer.

at this point you must have already read that os1 is not going to have any more additions, only bug fixes.
as for "learning a new os" i think that's pretty far off the mark, it doesn't take more than just a couple session to get accustomed to the improvements of os2.

1.13 looks to be QUITE handy. the disconnect between TRIM and GPE appears to be shrinking.

in my opinion PAD + arrow will be a nice workaround in GPE, for instance it will be better than selecting C1 to C16 and moving the data wheel with whole to get the same sample. Hope this gonna be good as a NDC workaround too.

ah 1.13 is os 2. my bad. i knew there werent any more additions coming, but i was wishful thinking i guess. haha

When I think of workflow, these are great Additions. Especially the PGM Mode in TRIM. The "quick-unassign" in GPE is dope too. That should have been in there ever since!

EDIT::: And wow, I am more and more excited about this, cause it says about Trim Mode, that you can not only change pitch from inside the Trim Mode but also select and assign samples from within it... that's so tight:

If each pad is hit, the sample currently assigned to the pad by the program will be displayed. [...] The same sample can be easily assigned to two or more pads using a [UNDO SEQ] key.

haha seems it's postponed to the 10th, with a os1 release fixing bugs.

Speaking of.. Is there a way to adjust the volume of the sample in trim mode? I think that the older MPC u where able to do so. That is some thing that i would like.

no, there is not a way to adjust the volume of a sample in playback OTHER THAN normalize, which i'm pretty confident isn't what you were talking about.

similarly there is no way to control TRIM's playback level, which sometimes results in SUPER LOUD playback

Im looking forward to this update, especially the program/trim mode thing.

On my other gear i always liked to tune samples really low to ensure there wasn't any space before hits, but i could never be bothered on the mpc changing the tuning in the sample list back and forth all the time. In gpe i often have pad13 as a "sample audition" pad where i flick through my chops before deciding where to put them , especially when making drum kits. Im looking forward to see whether or not a "quick detune pad" in trim edit/prg mode might be a solution for me.

should be cool for the workflow anyway... i dont use NDC much but i could see that working nicely from this trim/prg thing too.

What about something where as you chop samples, they are laid out on the pads as you go?

what about an option in trim screen right next to the CHOP: ON/OFF that is something like PGM: _____ and you can select whether or not you want the chop numbers to be automatically assigned as pads for that particular program
