Just explaining my situation with the 4k. It did a good job everytime I used it. But I wont get happy with this MPC. I normally use it as sequencer or pad-controller. I think the MPC could do so much more in other hands.
mint condition, more than 10Gb samplestuff, 4 k 2 big 4 me, bla,bla...


I think everyone (except me ) who is interested in an MPC4k, should know, what he is interested in. So I didnt write just another Featurelist in the description.

hey guys. do you think I can get this punch to my samples(like I get from 4k) from a smaller sampler(Sampleplayer)? the 4k is always powerful in the mix. now Im gonna kick that machine off and I think Im goin to miss its sound really much. I dont want to waste 4ks potential while using it as a sampleplayer.

you started the thread with "mpc4k on ebay" with lots of "commercial brakes" for your mpc. then you wrote:

you probably know that the 4k is the only hardwaresequencer in 24 bit...
with 960 ppq, lots of fx etc.....

using just its sequencer is really a shame. it can do so much more. but i dont need that more.
so 4k is more an accessoire in my studio which looks very nice..
i dont want to keep 4k just because of its sound. I think a drumsynthesizer could be more of my type, eh?

Give the guy some slack, he's obviously German and struggling slightly with translation. Appologies my friend with the ignorance this thread has shown for your needs thus far.

I have read other threads on here that state the sonic differences between MPC's is negligable (post MPC 3000), so maybe look at other MPC's my friend, or maybe the Rolad MV range?

Alternatively the forthcoming Linndrum 2 could be a real benefit to your sound, but may not be out till the new year.

i think your best bet is a mpc1k with jjos (1+2)

or perhaps a korg electribe sx (very different workflow but a nice machine)....

or get a akai mpd24 with ableton live and a good audiocard... (really easy daw with a lot of possibilities)

the roland mv serie i would not recommend: from my personal experience its a piece of crap (bad timing, old s700 series sound engine, very small display etc....) and costs nearly the same as the mpc4k....

personally i would go for the 1k with jjos....
best cost/performance ratio IMHO
