Yes, if you have a Microtech PCD-47B drive that has read only firmware (this firmware was used in 47B units that were placed in photo kiosks and the like), then updating the firmware to 3.2 will generally fix this problem. You will need a Windows PC with a SCSI interface card to apply the update.
