For me i dont find tap tempo or the tempo reader any good so this is what i do. change the sequence to one bar. set the program to the desired sample and then turn on quantize to 1/8. with you tempo set to the estimated bpm play the first 4 hits of the sample. if your estimation of the bpm is to high the 1 bar look will sound like its on fast forward. if your estimation of bpm is to low you will here empty spaces inbetween each hit. now all you have to do is adjust the tempo so the loop plays smooth and there you go the Samples BPM.
