I got a zip drive. Its connected via the scsi and set too terminal 5 (on the akai and physically on the back of the zip) im getting "scsi drive not ready,why?
What do you mean "set to 5" on the Akai? The Akai must NOT be set to the same SCSI ID number as the zip drive. Set the zip drive to 5 and the Akai to 6 and that may solve your problem.
Also, be sure the zip drive termination switch (if it has one) is set to ON.
Each SCSI device in your chain must have a unique SCSI ID number. The sampler is one device and the zip drive is another. They should never be set to the same SCSI ID number.
