Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Yiddy-Yo.
My manual says I can load up disks containing sounds, sequences and
.SET info from the older machines (60, 60II, 3000).
However, when I load the disks in, they come up as "format: ??"
And I know it's not the disks.

My co-producer is now rocking that big paper bag of
MPC60 beats to his heart's content!

I guess the newer drives don't recognize old azz disks, huh?

No, it is because they were the wrong type to use in the first place.

Someone used HD in a DD machine, which assumes all disks are DD. Newer machines, i.e. XL, do care (as they should).
