I was going to say, that Akai will drop the 2500 support sooner,.
But seeing as Akai doesnt really do support, then I guess it doesnt matter!

So what happened to JJ then? Did he get fired??

As for what the 2500 looks like (SE) - that shoudnt matter. Esp to purchase one so that people can swoon over it, lol. Get sum.

The 5000 may have extra ideas for Hip Hop and beat music but have you looked at the outputs? I use all four MIDI outs and 8 assignable outputs - not the same on the 5000.

I can't see them bringing out a new one yet. Only had mine four weeks

Dminor - been a couple of months since you started this thread. Can the Akai guys across the corridor from you shed any further light on what is planned and when for the 2500 OS. I'd be keen to know, for instance, whether the new OS will mirror the JJOS in expanding the maximum number of notes from 100,000 to 300,000 and/or whether it would allow users to specify the split between wav and seq memory? Any info you can provide much appreciated including any update on when it might be available. Regards Peter

Thought this reply from Akai technical support may be of interest if not particularly enlightening:

Hello Peter,

Thank you for your suggestions! I will forward these to the engineers.
Currently there is no ETA for a new OS. All development is done in the
secret 'batcave' so we only hear of a new OS once it has been posted to the
website.

Best Regards,
Justin Baro

Because all your posts knock the rest of the posts out of wack.

That's their auto-reply to new OS requests...

Stilo - thanks for pointing out, looked at DM's join date rather than the post date. Hopefully the new OS will be forthcoming shortly and bring some improvements.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused by the long username, clearly autogenerated. Have investigated how to change but without success so far, easy enough to change password and email but not sure about user. If anyone knows how will do it asap.

Will then get myself a comedy avatar and title in order to draw attention to myself! :)

Once again,
There Is No New OS For The 2500 Happening.
The 2500 is now sharing company with the 4k in the world of Akai developement.
If there is anything you want added to the 2500 then JJ is the only way it's gonna happen.
