korg triton mo phatt connection problemss

hey ive got an mpc 4000....im tired of beating on the mpc pads to be able to record or sample into my mpc 4000 from my Mo Phat sound Module.....when i hook up my korg triton to the main outs i can play the keys on my triton and record into it with no prob...

im way tired of beating up on the mpc pads to hear the mo phat sound module.. is there a way to be able to hook up the MO phat sound module to the korg triton so i play on the korg triton white keys and be able to record audio into the mpc 4000 as im playing it?

you can't record actual sound from a keyboard onto the 4000. Your best bet would be to connect them all togehter through midi then have all of the outputs from your keyboard going to a mixer so that it sounds like all of your sounds are coming from the same source.

so your saying there is no way you can connect the mo phat to the triton and play on the keys record it into the 4000 then??

cuz it works perfectly fine with the korg triton into the back of the mpc, i just connect the dual 1/4 to the back of the mpc 4k's outs and can play and record whatever im doin on my triton into my mp

You can but that is not the ideal way to set everything up. If you want to control the module with the Triton then just go midi out from the Triton to the midi in on the module, 1/4 inch outs on the module to the inputs on the 4k, You are doin things the hard way by doing it like that though.

so what would be the ideal way to work with both??
am i missing something here to make recording easier

From what you've described you're sampling everything into the 4k which isn't necassarily a bad thing but as you've realized it's a bit tedious. The more common way of setting up the gear you have would be to hook up the Triton and Mo Phatt to the MPC through mid and sequence everything on the MPC and run the audio outputs from everything into a mixer or soundcard and record it to a multi tracker. With everything setup like this you would be able to control the Mo Phatt with both the MPC and the Triton, the MPC would be the master and the Triton and Mo would be the slave devices. I'm not too familiar with how the 4k works so I'm not sure if the process for recording sequences is the same as on the 2kxl but here is how it works for me:

MPC mid out A to Triton midi in> Triton midi out to MPC midi in 1> MPC midi out B to Mo midi in> Mo midi out to MPC midi in 2> to sequence the Triton select midi device 1a-16a in the track menu on the main screen(again, this is for the 2kxl, see the 4k manual for how this works on the 4k) and go into sequencer mode on the Triton> to sequence the Mo select midi device 1b-16b in the track menu on the MPC and make sure the Mo is Multi mode> all of the audio outputs should be plugged into either a mixer or soundcard so you can hear everything playing together.

i hear what your saying,
that would work well for the MIDI, but what about the audio??? i want to be able to transfer my stuff over to cubase sx as audio and just mix down on sx....i sequence everything up make the beat (the creative process in the 4000) and then dump it onto sx as audio so its ready for me to eq/compress etc etc

i've never touched a multi tracker..
my sound card is an m audio phile 24/96

Cubase SX IS a multi tracker. You'll need a mixer to route the audio from the 4k and sound module to the Audiophile.

i dont get the sound module to the audiophile pc sound card part??
i wanna be able to record into my mpc 4000 with audio from the keyboard/soundmodule...
so i can sequence everything up and just dump it onto sx as Audio...now if i understand correctly if a sound module is hooked up to cubase sx, ill just be playing/recording into cubase with the mophatt/midi controller keys
when i would like to record into my mpc instead

Alright, just seems like some miscomunnication. You want to sample the Mo Phat and Triton into the 4k, right? I'm not sure why you prefer to work this way but hey, to each their own. There are two ways to do this that come to mind, you can either connect the audio outs on your gear to the MPC or the outputs from your mixer to the MPC and sample away. Hook up the Triton midi out to the Mo midi in so you can play the sounds from th Mo and sample it into the 4k. Once you have all the samples you need, sequnce em and record from the 4k outputs to the Audiophile.

Now, I have to say, this is gonna be A LOT of work, while I understand sampling drums and hits or even some multi samples into the 4k I don't get why you want to sample EVERYTHING into the 4k first when you can sequence everything on the 4k and record it all into Cubase but as I said before, to each his own and if this works for you than by all means do your thing.
