Hi, winamp used to have a plugin that can save the mp3 as a wav-file.
The free audio-editor Audacity can open mp3s and save waves.

I use a newer version of i tunes. Go to your preferences and tell i tunes to convert to WAV. Then go to your library or wherever your keeping your samples and right klick on the sample - convert file to WAV. simple. The only pain in the ass is that you gotta delete all your converted samples off of i tunes in order to keep yur library down to a reasonable size (after you have dragged them to your desktop of course).
