the 500 doesnt have built-in speakers. You have to buy some. I got a set of speakers at RadioShack. You'll also need a 1/4 Headphone adapter so that the speakers will fit into the HeadPhone slot on your 500.

so you have to put your set of speakers into the phonejack with the 1/4 inch adapter? also what kind of speakers did u buy and how much do they run for?

yea man, 1/4 Adapter goes into the 500, the speakers go into the Adapter. I got my speakers for $30.00, their ok, but now I wish I woulda splurged for more expensive speakers. You can also hook up your "iPod" or "CD Player" headphones into the adapter instead of a set of speakers. Circuit City, Best Buy, etc. really any electronics store may have a set of speakers you could buy.

Actually, it is somewhere in the first pages of MPC's manual (the black thin book which should have been in the box, you know), in the section about audio connections. Can you read in English? :)

You can use whatever device with audio-output, provided you have a couple of audio cables with appropriate connectors.
