Putting a switch on the screen to turn it off.

Okay i want to modify my mpc to make the screen shut off like the 3000. I dont like to have to shut down over night so my ish wont burn out. Is this possible to do? Has anyone ever tried it?

im bout to put some switches on my screen to make it bounce up and down like a 64

the most elegant way would be to replace the contrast knob with a push pull switching pot, like the 3000. That way no drilling.

It isn't hard, all you have to do is interrupt the positive line going to the inverter board and leave it floating. I could do this, but I wouldn't recommend tampering with the mpc in this way unless you know what you're doing.

I would rather replace backlight, you'll have to do it anyway, and you aren't **** with the electronics.

i'd like to change the colours of the screen from the dull blueish hue to black with bright red graphics.....you know-Cobra Style!.....that would be Fuhkin ill........

i rigged my mpc, to play dvds, and playstation 2 games. It wasnt hard at all, just need a little skill with the solderin iron.

hold the shift button, and rotate the data dial.. It won't completely turn it off, but at least your not gonna burn the screen out.

nah i still think u burn em out wit the contrast down. I might just say **** it and leave it on all the time. How much a new b light cost? im too damn lazy to search right now.
