Kurzweil compatability

Is it true the 4000 can read .krz files? I'm sure I heard this somewhere. I put a K-2vx CD-Rom in to to the drive to load and it didn't seem to recognize anything on the CD. Anyone who knows or can help? Thanks.

you have to have the Kurzweil chip installed....

Even if you pulled the wave data from the CD-ROM you are still missing the Kurz synth engine that impacts it. Most Kurz CDs have some pretty interesting programming that is simply not possible in any way with any MPC.

In most cases outside of drums and phrases, what you end up with from CDXTRACT and what actually comes from a K2x is very different.
