BLUE SCREEN FOR MPC1000 $64.95!!!

I've been researching this all nite...

go to the one second from bottom - 240 x 64 Blue Graphic LCD Display (T6963) and click the more info icon.

i've went over and over it. the dimensions and specs match the 1k screen perfectly. its the exact same in blue. the only thing is it dosn't come with a ribbon. but i'm gonna have an electronics specialist de-solder the one from my green lcd and fit it to the new blue one. what a find! and very inexpensive if you ask me...

another cool thing is other places are selling them in diffrent colors, like black and blue, yellow and green, black and white and so on...

way to totally screw over that one guy

Okay, i don't want anybody jumping the gun here, so this is to clear a few things up...

first and foremost. my original post is NO WAY intended to hurt christfutura's sales of his blue lcd for the mpc1000.
as originally stated his product comes fitted with the cable ribbon - THIS DOES NOT.

Christfutura himself has put an enormous amount of effort into sourcin his lcd's ASWELL as sourcing the cable ribbons and having them fitted to the board. his is a fantastic product.

Christfutura himself has pm'd me on this situation and has personally congratulated me on my find and wished me luck. this is very good practice coming from a seller aswell as very gentlemanly. so christfutura - many thanks bro.

my personal belief as a consumer is that i should try and find the best product at the cheapest price. don't knock my hustle.

i have maticulously researched the mpc1000 lcd. i have found the exact model and specifications here: http://www.k2lcd.com/new_pdf/kg/kg-24064J.htm

if you read them, you will find that they are both IDENTICAL, they even run off the same toshiba controller (T6963C)
all input and output voltages are the same, aswell as pin connections (22). the only difference is the second one is blue.

COINCIDENTALLY -> i jst saw this morning that a guy in the mpc2500 forum installed this exact same blue LCD from futurlec.com in his mpc2500, turns out the specs of the 2500 lcd are the same as the 1000. these specs are for the exact model that comes with the mpc2500 ->http://www.bonafide.com.hk/catalog/MG24064-02.pdf

also, check his tutorial: http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=97249&st=0&sk=t&sd=a
as you can see the exact same method of desoldering the green lcd's ribbon would work with the 1k lcd. it also shows the blue lcd from futurlec installed and working.

so as stated, when my lcd arrives i will try this it and let you all know how it went, fingers crossed. but theoretically there is no reason why it shudn't work.

iirc, doesn't the mpc1000 screen cable just have a connector on the screen end, and is removable? i don't remember my cable being soldered to the screen pcb.

Y'know, some time ago there was a post on here (under some obscure title that probably wouldn't be too easy to pick out of the archive right now) with a picture of a NEGATIVE LCD display that looked like it might work but nobody ever got down to comparing the specs or ordering the hardware to see if it would work.

See any of those around?

Hey guys and CHRISTFUTURA, I am in no means upset about my purchase. NOT AT ALL!

I love how my machine looks and will also get the LEDs for her from CF. $155. was as great a buy as was JJ OS1
