I want to be the first for installing a switch for the LCD screen.
Like a mercury switch that turns off the light when the screen is flat and turns on when it's raised.
If I do... you peeps will be the first to know.

i'm not sure if i should risk it myself, you know i obviously don't want to break it,

but i was wonderin if anyone here has done it themselves and if it is easy or not.

i installed the 32mb myself works fine. if you want even more memory there is an 8mb flash rom board for the mpc that cost like $240.00. that would give you a total of 40mb of memory. flash rom doesn't get erased when you turn off ya mpc, so you could have like 8megs of kicks snares and hats, etc. that you use alot or samples you know you'll be working for a while. i'm going to buy it and fell it up with sound effects. like door slamming, glass breaking. girl screaming, etc.

it's easy to install, and pretty difficult to electrocute youself, or burn stuff out...

...I was doin it with the power plugged in (I would advise against this), and go sparks, and the MPC cutoff, but it's still working...

Don't worry about chaining yourself to a radiator or whatever to make sure you are grounded ......... just keep a lead from a socket on the MPC connected to a mixer or amp that is plugged into the mains. Even with the mains power off ( which is safer ) your MPC will be earthed. As the MPC has a metal case which you will be touching you will be earthed by that.

I fitted the 8 outputs board myself. MPCs are made to be easily upgraded. The only difficult thing is keeping track of all the different size screws you need to undo & remembering which goes back where.
