Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Might be kind of a newbie question, but how do I hook up 3 synths to my mpc 500? I've been all over google searching for a solution. Do I need a midi patchbay? Any equipment suggestions that's cheap? I'm not using a computer and just want to do my beats old school midi style. Thanks for the help!

Midi patchbay would be useful indeed. Any multiport midi interface will do the trick as well. You can also use midi thru for daisy chaining your synths, but then there could be issue with timing, as MIDI data will require more time to get to the last device in the chain.

How to daisy chain your midi equipment: MPC MIDI OUT -> 1 synth MIDI IN, 1 synth MIDI OUT/THRU -> 2 synth MIDI IN, 2 synth MIDI OUT/THRU -> 2 synth MIDI IN and so on. You may have to configure each device for passing through midi signals, if they don't do that by default (see your synth's manuals for reference on that).
