Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

I have a sample that I want to sound slower and I've tried the 16 Levels key but I can't get it to play out on the different pads (they all play the same sample that sounds the same). Basically the 16 level button doesn't do anything but play the same sample on all pads.

Also, when trying to cut a sample sometimes the trim won't go past a certain point even though I make the end point shorter.

Finally,
I have a bunch of sequences all the way filled. Can I make a load a new program and keep the same samples on the same pad assignment?
