Just read the manual, in the introduction you can find a clear explenation of all the used terms. But because my work is so boring right now I will try to explain it to you anyway.
A programm is actually all your settings how you want your samples to be played when you hit a pad. Simple example: In my programm I assigned a kick drum to pad A1. I set the level for pad 1A on level 80. I set the pitch on -1, and put a little low pass filter on it with a value of 80, and a resonance of 20.
If you save this programm, all these settings I wrote down will be saved. Make sure you also save the sample itself, otherwise the programm KNOWS that there's a kickdrum assigned to pad A1, but will not be able to play this sample, because you didn't save the sample.
So you have the sample itself, and the programm that only hold it's settings and remembers to wich pad each sample is assigned.
