Filtered basslines...?

Okay, I've been trying to get some filtered basslines using my Ultrafunk EQ. So, I put a lowpass at like 70-100hz and that does the trick, somewhat. But how do I get it to sound more bassy (instead of the muffled sound) without getting mad resonance (which is what I get when I put it thru a maximizer)?

try to change the pitch a bit , go to your program params screen and hilite the tune open that window and change the pitch down then filter it and you get some deep shakin bass.

From what I've heard they're supposed to be pretty good. Plus they help keep this site up!

you could try adding a sub bass sine wave - programme it so that it follows your bassline, then squash the two together using a compressor.

Or find a sub bass plug in (like waves maxx bass, or Logic's sub plug). Remember to squeeze them with a comp. - fat low end with punch.

Don't take out too much top end from your original sample btw - you need a bit of bite to cut through.
